Wylie Sprayers sponsored the 2nd Annual Manufacturing Career Fair located at the Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center.
Lubbock Avalanche Journal ArticleJames Peel, our Petersburg Manufacturing Plant Human Resources representative, and Jason Johnson, our Human Resources Director, attended the event to help inform students of their career options after high school. Lubbock Independent School district hosted the event. LISD offers advanced classes for students, with state of the art equipment, including 10-12 welding booths and a fabrication area. The equipment available for students to use is similar to the equipment at our manufacturing plant. AutoCAD, a very advanced architectural design system, is available to manufacturing students at LISD.
About 200-300 students visited the Wylie booth. If students were not aware prior to the career fair, they know now that our Wylie manufacturing plant is in Petersburg, and they have options close by.
